Embedded World 2017 is just over a month away, and given the growing interest in the IoT it promises to be quite a lively event.
The VIA booth is located at #2-551 in Hall 2 of the Exhibition Center Nuremberg, and as we announced in the press release we sent out last week, smart transportation is one of the main themes that we will be promoting there.
Our focus with our smart transportation solutions is on commercial-grade in-vehicle and in-station applications, ranging from the VIA Smart Taxi IoT Acceleration Platform featuring the VIA AMOS-825 system to a variety of HMI starter kits and platforms that enable the rapid development of signage systems and information kiosks. Multiple hardware and software customization options are available to meet specific deployment requirements.
Smart transportation is a highly-fragmented segment of the IoT market, covering everything from autonomous vehicle development to applications such as information display, queue management, and logistics tracking. One of the biggest opportunities we are seeing for VIA is in building the systems that are required to make sure that airports, train stations, bus termini, and other transportation hubs can seamlessly handle huge volumes of user transactions for such applications.
For in-vehicle applications, we are seeing a lot of interest from smaller commercial taxi, bus, and truck companies that need to boost the efficiency of their operations through improved fleet management capabilities and expand the range of services that they offer to their customers. Our VIA Mobile360 Surround View IoT Acceleration Platform, which delivers real-time in-vehicle 360° video monitoring and recording for up to eight individual HD camera streams, is also attracting a lot of attention among such companies for driver monitoring, safety, and vehicle tracking applications.
