Taipei Confucius Temple Chongsheng Shrine

At the rear of the Dacheng Hall is the Chongsheng Shrine, which is home to tablets commemorating five generations of Confucius’ ancestors as well as his brothers and the fathers of other leading Confucian followers including Yan Hui, Zengzi, Mencius, and Tzisi.

The main altar in the Chongsheng shrine hosts the tablets commemorating the most important ancestors of Confucius. Other memorial tablets can be found on the walls of the building.

The shrine is flanked on both sides by two smaller pavilions built in a similar architectural style. Two trees in the corners courtyard add to the tranquility of the scene.
