Taipei Confucius Temple

Taipei Confucius Temple provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city – not to mention an elegant testament to the teachings of the Great Sage.

Built in the late 19th century, the temple is modeled on the original Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong, and features a number of fine buildings, most notably the stroking Dacheng (Great Success) Hall, with its fine stone pillars and roof carvings and thin pagoda rising from the center of the roof.

Ancient ceremonies and rituals honoring the ancient sage are held here every September on Taiwan’s Teacher’s Day.
