Road to Jinguashi

The drive from the Golden Falls up to Jinguashi (金瓜石) provides some spectacular views of the nearby valleys, hills, and villages, not to mention the Pacific Ocean in the background.

As you take in the verdant vistas, it’s difficult to imagine that Jinguashi was once a bustling copper and gold mining town. Those industries may have faded away, but their legacy still remains. Indeed, Jinguashi has successfully leveraged its mining heritage to transform itself into a major tourist center.
