With the Daily Snapshot, I’m going to turn my attention to the scenic Northeast Coast of Taiwan just beyond the port city of Keelung. This is one of the most beautiful parts of Taiwan and in addition to some quite stunning coastal and mountain scenery also features some charming old mining towns, quaint fishing villages, colorful old temples, and even a Second World War prisoner of war camp.
Today’s photos were taken at Nanya, the most northerly scenic spot on the Northeast coast of Taiwan. Nanya is famous for its stunning formations of fantastically-shaped rocks caused by the weathering of the sandstone that stand along the shore, and also offers some spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding mountains.

No wonder it’s just about the mandatory first stop on any tour of the area.
