My first overseas trip of the year – to the crisp cold of Beijing rather than the pouring rain of Las Vegas. This is the view from my apartment this morning. It’s always a great pleasure, not to mention a huge relief, to see clear blue skies over the city. A perfect winter’s day is promised.
We have enjoyed considerable growth with our family of VPai turnkey solutions for 360-degree cameras that we launched last year. Our customers have found it a fast and efficient way of testing out this new market with minimal product development times and costs.
We have just released a major update to the VPai app for Android integrating a raft of new features aimed at improving the overall user experience and making it easier to create attention-grabbing 360° images and videos.
When I was a student I don’t think I ever even heard the word internship, let alone felt the need to do one during my summer holidays. Whenever I required some cash to supplement my pocket money or grant (yes, I was lucky enough to go to university when they still existed), I would simply go and get a job – picking up lifelong lessons about the world of business along the way while collecting discarded trolleys in a supermarket car park, selling petrol and cigarettes in a gas station, and gutting turkeys in a slaughter house.
My trip to Shenzhen provided the perfect opportunity to catch up with the latest developments on our VPai 360-degree camera platform. While I can’t reveal the details yet, I’m excited by the progress that the team is making on both the hardware and the software fronts. Expect some interesting announcements in the coming months.
