I Ching Diary: spiritual and physical nourishment

physical nourishment

I can’t believe that the first quarter of 2018 is already over. Perhaps it’s true that the older you get, the faster the time flies by you.

My I Ching reading this morning reminded me of the need for spiritual and physical nourishment when it came up with Hexagram 27 (頤/yí). Perhaps this was a less-than-subtle reminder that I should study the text more diligently every morning and resume my blogging about the lessons I’m learning from it.

The changing line, line 6, continued with the same theme, enjoining me to cross a great stream or water. In other words, to get out of my comfort zone no matter what risks that might entail.

Hexagram 24 (復/fù), the result of the transformation, hammered the point home even harder. I am at a new turning point as a period of darkness comes to a close. Exciting times lie ahead of me as long as I ease myself into this new transition and don’t push things too hard.

At this stage, I have no idea what direction the turning point will take me in. But for the moment I’m content to be cautiously optimistic that it will be an interesting journey.
