My first overseas trip of the year – to the crisp cold of Beijing rather than the pouring rain of Las Vegas. This is the view from my apartment this morning. It’s always a great pleasure, not to mention a huge relief, to see clear blue skies over the city. A perfect winter’s day is promised.
VIA doesn’t have our own booth at CES, but we are showing the VIA Alegro 100 multiprotocol wireless gateway router at the Open Connectivity Foundation stand in the Sands Expo Center (#42914) as part of a living room demo featuring devices from a total of eight companies, including Electrolux, Haier, Honeywell, EnOcean Alliance, and Beechwoods.
As the IoT continues to proliferate in the home, ensuring compatibility among different devices from multiple vendors is going to be a huge challenge. The OCF is playing a very important role in bringing hundreds of companies and organizations throughout the world to make this happen. It’s hardly the most glamorous of tasks – but someone has to do it.
We will also be showing the VIA Alegro 100 at Embedded World taking place from February 27 – March 1 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center in Germany along with our Enterprise IoT systems and solutions. The VIA booth is located in Hall 2 at #2-551. Please feel free to drop me a line if you would like to meet me there at RichardBrown_at_via.com.tw.
Later today, we will be officially announcing the VPai Clip2 Pro turnkey solution for 4K 360-degree cameras. Just like VPai Home, this is a production-ready hardware and software platform aimed at companies looking for a rapid entry point to the smart camera market. It’s available in a variety of color combinations and language versions and can be customized for specific requirements. An APK is also available for customers wishing to create a customized version of the VPai software app.
